DESCRIPTION:This 3-hour presentation will provide "Active Shooter\: Pr
 eparation and Response" information based on Department of Homeland Se
 curity (DHS) best practices tailored for Houses of Worship or other op
 en venues.  It will discuss the personalities that perpetrate these at
 tacks to potentially identify and curtail them\, individual and organi
 zational preparation\, response\, recovery\, and other reference resou
 rces.  Besides a DHS presenter\, members of local law enforcement will
  also describe the law enforcement response to these and other types o
 f serious events. Members of local law enforcement will provide ideas 
 on how to assemble an Emergency Response committee for your organizati
 on.  In addition\, local law enforcement will also supply information 
 on conducting a security site assessment\, which can identify areas of
  vulnerability and potential risks for your facility.
