DESCRIPTION:Training Description\: This 3-hour presentation will provi
 de "Active Shooter\: Preparation and Response" information based on De
 partment of Homeland Security (DHS) best practices tailored for Houses
  of Worship or other open venues.  It will discuss the personalities t
 hat perpetrate these attacks to potentially identify and curtail them\
 , individual and organizational preparation\, response\, recovery\, an
 d other reference resources.  Besides a DHS presenter\, members of loc
 al law enforcement will also describe the law enforcement response to 
 these and other types of serious events. Members of local law enforcem
 ent will provide ideas on how to assemble an Emergency Response commit
 tee for your organization.  In addition\, local law enforcement will a
 lso supply information on conducting a security site assessment\, whic
 h can identify areas of vulnerability and potential risks for your fac
 ility.
